A frightening night in Wellington Point

2015 october Halloween marketsWe have an awesome community !!!

What a fun family friendly night we had together tonight at the Village Green Twilight markets.  Roz has organised more and more stalls each week which is attracting more locals and visitors to the area.

The Wellington Point Traders held their sausage sizzle to raise funds for local projects.  Gary Barrett, from Pat Barrett Realty, Jenny Marsden, our local optometrist, Shane from Cold Rock  and I manned the BBQ with help from Greg (keyboard player from Little Steely) We sold out so thank you everyone for your support tonight 🙂  Councillor Murray Elliott popped in and had an easy dinner with us and enjoyed the night.

2015 Oct Halloween (2)Our Mystery DJ remained a mystery for a while with his mask but when it came off “Malc till Midnight” was revealed.   Malcolm is a DJ on Bay FM on Monday nights from 10-00pm to 12-00.  Thank you for a marvellous job keeping the night flowing and the music set, even without Neil Diamond was great  Thank you to two friends that helped with the music one being Murray also from the Little Steely Brothers.

The effort the local children went to with their costumes was amazing.    Our Village Green has never looked so frightening 🙂  Whole families came dressed up, individuals and even dogs.   There was so much chatter and laughter, I really enjoyed the night with all the smiles!

2015 Oct Hallowwen (3)

Seeing the children parade was a highlight of the evening…a zombie lead them through the markets and down to the stage where we had the most frightening task of choosing costume winners.  It was the best community photo with everyone dressed up and laughing etc.  Totally made the evening.

2015 october halloween (4)Well done to Roz the organiser who was pumpkin and her zombie husband Pete who are our market organisers.  First Saturday of the month so don’t miss them in the future and if you would like be a stall holder pop onto her facebook site.

It was just a great community night while successfully building our local economy with all the restaurants filled to the footpaths

One can have all the bling but it is local grassroot community events that keeps us all connected and is what we all love about Redlands 🙂

I will say it again…..this was a fantastic community night !!!  Don’t miss the next market which will be in the Christmas theme…ho ho ho
