Proud Scouting moment

Amelia’s celebration of achieving her Australian Scout Medallion (ASM)
“Amelia never lets challenges get in her way but rather smashed through and found another way” – Akuna
This morning I joined the Scouts and their families at their week end camp at Kindilan to acknowledge Amelia’s achievement.
The ASM is the highest achievement possible in Scouts and usually takes 3-4 years to complete.
Amelia achieved all badges, projects and challenges within 15 months, which is an inspirational achievement – remember all restrictions of COVID were also in this time!
Two of the challenges were hikes- one was a 30kilometre hike, where Amelia planned the route, did all risk assessments and lead a pack of 4 Scouts on the hike.
Everyone present was so very proud of Amelia – The list of skills Amelia has acquired and the strength of character displayed at such a young age was very inspirational and motivational.
Amelia is also very passionate about Mental Health issues affecting our youth and has discussed these issues and ideas with her Scout leaders ensure safe Scout environments.
With all the negative media lately, I was so delighted to have attended today and again seen the positive impact Scouts have on our Youth.
Congratulations to Amelia on receiving her ASM. This is an achievement where you have learnt life skills and you should be very proud of all you have achieved.
I’m sure will inspire many others.
